THE REPORTER | Overflow floods hit 19 villages in two sub-districts in North Aceh Regency, on Saturday (5/10/2024).
Heavy rain that poured over North Aceh and Bener Meriah in the last two days caused the Krueng Pirak and Kereuto Rivers to overflow. As a result, a number of villages in Matangkuli and Tanah Luas Districts were inundated.
Some of the affected villages in Matangkuli District include Gampong Hagu, Teumpok Barat, Mee, Meunye Pirak, Alue Euntok, and several other villages.

In addition to submerging settlements, this disaster also caused the KKA road in Gampong Paya Dua, Banda Baro District, to collapse and almost be cut off. Local residents are currently using planks and wood to cross.
Based on temporary data, the flood affected 1,218 families (KK) or around 4,589 people in two sub-districts. In detail, 760 KK or 2,620 people were affected in Matangkuli Sub-district, and 458 KK or 1,969 people were affected in Tanah Luas Sub-district.[AR]
