THE REPORTER | Hundreds of health workers (nakes) from the Datu Beru Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Takengon, Central Aceh, held a demonstration in front of the local People’s Representative Council (DPRK) Office, Thursday, October 17, 2024.
The health workers carried a number of banners with protest writings regarding the unclear quota for the selection of Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) and Quality Assurance (JM) for health services, especially for honorary workers who have served for a long time.
One of the health workers, Rahmadi, said that there was injustice in the 2024 PPPK selection process, which did not provide opportunities for Datu Beru Takengon Hospital health workers.
“For health workers, the Health Service has given opportunities, why is there none for Datu Beru Hospital? We are being neglected,” said Rahmadi in his speech.
In addition to the PPPK quota issue, the demonstrators also conveyed demands regarding the payment of Medical Services (JM) which had not been paid for more than three months and was often late.
“It’s been four months since the medical fee has been paid,” said another health worker.
In this action, the health workers asked the Aceh Tengah DPRK to immediately respond and take real steps regarding the health workers’ complaints. They hope for improved facilities and welfare for health workers.
“We hope for improved facilities and welfare for health workers, in order to support better services for the community,” said the health workers.[AR]
