THE REPORTER | One person died in a traffic accident on the Medan-Banda Aceh national road, Paloh Lada Village, Dewantara District, North Aceh Regency, Saturday afternoon, October 19, 2024, at around 12.00 WIB.
From the statement of the Lhokseumawe Police Chief AKBP Henki Ismanto, S.I.K through the Head of Traffic Police AKP M. Abdhi Hendriyatna, S.I.K., M.H., this incident involved one unit of a Hino LPG tanker car, and two motorbikes, a Honda Supra X 125, and a Yamaha Nmax.
The victim who died was Virgy Aurel Rassya Alifa (19), a student from Aek Loba Pekan Village, Aek Kuasan District, Asahan Regency, who was riding a Honda Supra X 125 BK-6713-VBM motorbike.
Hino LPG tanker car BL-9515-OC with driver named Saiful Nurdin (49), a resident of Tu Panteraja Village, Panteraja District, Pidie Jaya Regency, who has a General BII SIM.
The Yamaha Nmax BL-5504-KBG driver from Pulo Rungkom Village, Dewantara District, North Aceh Regency, suffered minor injuries.
“From the statement of an eyewitness, the accident began when the Honda Supra X 125 motorbike driven by Virgy was driving from Medan towards Banda Aceh, side by side with the Hino LPG tanker car. When trying to overtake the tanker car from the right, from the opposite direction came a Yamaha Nmax motorbike driven by Dedi Saputra so that a collision occurred,” he explained.
As a result of this accident, the Honda Supra X 125 motorbike also suffered damage to the front, while the Yamaha Nmax was damaged to the front.
“As a result of the collision, the Honda Supra X 125 motorcycle fell under the tanker and was crushed by the rear tire, causing Virgy to die at the scene,” he added.
Traffic Police personnel conducted a crime scene investigation and collected witness statements and evidence of the car and the two motorcycles for further legal proceedings.[AR]
