THE REPORTER | The Indonesian National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has ensured that the discovery or disclosure of a class one narcotics case in the form of 624.507 kilograms of marijuana from Aceh is not an international network.

The Head of the Indonesian BNN, Police Commissioner General Marthinus Hukom, revealed that until now his party has found that the suspects were only involved in the sale and distribution of narcotics of the plant type that can grow in Indonesia.

Marthinus believes that the seven suspects with the initials K, R, P, Z, E, H, and RK are not an international network, unless in developing the case investigators find that the suspects also sell other types of narcotics such as crystal methamphetamine or ecstasy pills.

“If they sell crystal methamphetamine and ecstasy, then it is very possible that there is a strong indication that they are involved in the distribution of an international network,” said Marthinus during a press conference in Padang.

The three-star general emphasized that the BNN will closely monitor the disclosure of the case, including evidence of 624 kilograms of marijuana from Aceh.

This is because the BNN does not want to be caught off guard like the disclosure of the crystal methamphetamine case that ensnared former West Sumatra Police Chief Teddy Minahasa.

“I want to learn from the experience that happened here that injured the morals of law enforcement institutions,” he said.

He said that the 624 kilograms of marijuana ready for distribution would be destroyed two weeks after receiving a decision from the local District Attorney’s Office.

This refers to Article 91 Paragraph 2 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. Meanwhile, Article 90 Paragraph 1 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics states that a small portion of narcotics evidence is set aside for laboratory testing purposes, and evidence in court.

Is appealed to the public if they receive information about law enforcement officers suspected of being involved in the 624 marijuana case, they are expected to immediately report it to the BNN.

“Please, report it to the Police or BNN and other law enforcers,” he concluded.[AR]
