THE REPORTER | A woman’s body was found floating in the sea by fishermen in Labuhan Haji, South Aceh Regency.

“The body without identification was found by local fishermen on Thursday (17/10) at 17.00 WIB. The body was found floating in the middle of the sea,” said Labuhan Haji Police Chief, South Aceh Police, Ipda Sabda Man Sobri, Friday, October 18, 2024.

The body was evacuated to the old market port and then taken to the Labuhan Haji Health Center for further examination.

“After the examination, his team did not find any identification but only medicines in the front pocket of the unidentified female body,” continued the Police Chief.

The medicines are suspected not to be from Indonesia, but from other countries, such as India or Bangladesh. It is suspected that the female body wearing a red shirt came from Bangladesh or the Rohingya ethnic group.

The woman’s body was then evacuated to the Yuliddin Away Tapaktuan Regional General Hospital (RSUD).

“We continue to monitor and patrol the waters of Labuhan Haji. And coordinate with related parties regarding the discovery of the body,” said Sabda Man Sobri.[AR]
